The Big Box of Disneyland Paris Memorabilia Part 2 – The EuroDisney Tape & The Poncho
Next from the big box is this tape called EuroDisney: Feel The Magic. As far as I can tell it’s the first music release from Disneyland Paris, or EuroDisney as it was at the time. According to EuroSouvenirland it was also available on CD.
I’ve had this tape for a few years, bought from eBay, but I’ve never actually listened to it. That’s what comes from not having a tape player, which is something I plan on rectifying at Christmas, along with me yearning to have a record player once again. I do actually have this in MP3 format as well, but I’ve not listened to it in a while.
Interestingly, even though all the text is in English, each side is labelled with Face A and Face B respectively, rather than Side 1 and Side 2.
The front cover features a really nice picture of Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant with some of the Disney characters placed in front. Along with the usual characters I was surprised to see Robin Hood featured, as he is not seen on much merchandise, which makes a nice change. I also like how the artwork continues round the spine, where Chip and Dale (Tic et Tac) can be seen at the bottom.
The other side of the inlay is quite plan with just some text explaining in more detail the contents of each track.
The image above is 2000 pixels wide so if you click on it you’ll see it much bigger and you’ll be able to read all of the text. For those that can’t see the image, the track listing is as follows:

You’ll notice that strangely, Track 7 of Side 2, Feel The Magic, is not actually listed on the back of the tape cover.
It feels quite odd to be handling a cassette tape after so many years of CDs and now digital music. I’ve collected the Disneyland Paris CDs fanatically over the years and it’s nice to have the very first one, though I would like to get hold of the CD version to go with the tape version – the completest inside me desires it!
The next item is one that many of you will have seen people wear in the parks on a rainy day and costs next to nothing, maybe 1 or 2 Euros. It’s the iconic yellow Disneyland Paris Poncho, of which we have two, still sealed and obviously never used.
Luckily it’s not rained during our last few visits so I have no idea if the ponchos are still yellow in Disneyland Paris. Please leave a comment if you are able to shed any light on this mystery!
