Disneyland Paris Pins for December 2012 – The Train Is Complete & The Force is Strong
It’s rather strange seeing December pins but nothing to do with Christmas, but in true 21st century style, that was covered in the October and November pin releases. Also, apologies for the small pin poster – that’s all Disneyland Paris posted on their website this month. Hint – we want to go back to the bigger ones for January 2013 please.
We start off with 2 Princess pins being released on December 1st – really not my thing but I’m sure they will appeal to the hoards of Princess fans. Moving swfitly on 7 days and we see the full 20th Anniversary Train set being released as one framed item, for a mighty 219€. Now each of the 12 pins cost 12,99€ which comes to 155,88€, which means that the frame and background is costing you 63,12€. Now that’s not extortionate, not by Disney standards anyway. It is also limited to 600 pieces, though I’d guess they will not sell out any time soon. I do know one person who will be interested in this…
Also out on December 8th is Tinkerbell as the Fairy of Ice, or something to that effect. I’m not usually one for Tink pins but her sitting there on an icicle is pretty nice, for a fairy pin 😉 There’s also a random Mr Potato Head pin but let’s not beat around the bush, it’s the Star Wars pins that are of greatest interest that weekend. I’m an absolute sucker for the Disney / Star Wars cross-overs and Stitch as The Emperor is stroke of genius, as is Goofy as Chewbacca. 18,99€ is a pretty great price for 4 pins, and needless to say I want this set.
There’s a rare Wednesday release for the other great pin of the December releases, that being the Mickey Mouse poker chip pin which is out December 12th. This pin is only sold in the Pueblo Trading Post in Frontierland, which if you don’t know is the Mecca for pins and pin trading in Disneyland Paris. If you haven’t been there it’s well worth a visit on your next trip to Disneyland Paris.
We’re back to Saturday releases for the Winter 2012 Cheshire Cat pin which is out on the 15th, and for anyone that knows me, you’ll spot the second bit hanging off the chains and realise that I like and want this pin. One week later on the 22nd December, we have our second Cheshire Cat pin, a Happy New Year pin at that. The image isn’t that big but I think I can make out the head being separate from the body and taking the place of the 0 in 2013. Anyone else agree or am I seeing things? Rounding off the December 2012 pins are another 2 of the pin game series, including the mighty Robinson Treehouse.
All in all I really like the December pins and definitely want the Star Wars and Mickey Mouse releases, and would probably want the Winter 2012 pin and possibly even the Tinekrbell pin. I never thought I’d write that last bit on this website!
