Massive Refurbishments Coming to Disneyland Paris

Yesterday and today there is an event going on in Disneyland Paris called What’s New What’s Next. This is a series of presentations and showcases of all the new developments planned for Disneyland Paris, from hotel overhauls to Christmas merchandise. The event was attended by a select group of invitees, one of which is our official partner magicforum, and another is long time friend of Dedicated to DLP Designing Disney. It’s their information that I’ll be using in this article. Make sure to follow them on Twitter; @magicforum and @DesigningDisney for…

Captain EO in Disneyland Paris to Close Permanently in February 2014

It has been confirmed by our friends over at Radio Disney Club that Captain EO in Disneyland Paris willclose permanently in February 2014. I don’t think this will come as a surprise to anyone who has seen the show in the last year or so, as you’ll have seen many empty seats. It is in fact it’s lack of popularity that has been cited as the reason for the impending closure. With the recent rumours of no new rides until 2022, this does beg the question as to what will take…

No more new attractions after Ratatouille in Disneyland Paris until 2022?

Just moments ago as I write this, Alain Littaye over at his Disney & More blog, revealed that no new attractions are planned for Disneyland Paris until 2022, after the opening of Ratatouille in the summer of 2014. Before we start discussing this, we have to remember that as knowledgeable as Alain is, this is not fact and not everything he writes about comes true, as seen with this article talking of the Little Mermaid ride coming to Disneyland Paris in 2012. That article was written as more of a speculative…

Disneyland Paris Photos: Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, Dreams!, but no Light’Ears

Thanks to Rob Glew who sent me these Disneyland Paris photos from his visit in late August. This first one beautifully captures the flames from the Dreams! show, which if you’ve seen it in person you’ll know that you can feel the heat from some way away. Apart from the blazing fire, what you will notice is that there are no Light’Ears being used. It’s certainly not the sea of glowing Mickey ears that were seen at the press launch of these €20 accessories. What you can see is plenty of…

Sleeping Beauty’s Castle in Disneyland Paris…LEGO Style

With all the talk of the new LEGO Store coming to Disney Village in Disneyland Paris recently, both on this website and on the podcast, and how much I wished they made LEGO sets of Disneyland Paris attractions, I thought I’d do a little digging on the internet and see what I could come up with. I used this photo of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, from Christmas in Disneyland Paris last year, as the subject of choice. Mosaic Maker The first website I found was Mosaic Maker, where they claim the following:…

Petition to Save Disneyland Paris – Does it Need Saving?

As I write this, the petition to save Disneyland Paris has 2,757 signatures of the 5,000 required before it will be sent to The Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger. You can read the whole letter to Iger over at Change.org, but to summarise, Disneyland Paris is stated as dropping in quality so much that it does indeed need saving, and bringing this to the attention of The Walt Disney Company’s (TWDC) CEO is seen is the best course of action. The four main areas of attention are highlighted as maintenance,…
