Vive La Vie Lyrics – Mickey’s Halloween Celebration in Disneyland Paris

Vive La Vie is the latest new song to hit Disneyland Paris, being the soundtrack to the brand new Mickey’s Halloween Celebration cavalcade that debuted this Friday just gone. Thanks to InsideDLParis on his Facebook page, we now have the lyrics to this upbeat anthem, created by Scott Erickson, Brendan Milburn, Valerie Vigoda and Fabrice Ferrer.

Ohé, Ohé
Ohé, Ohé
Hey! Hey hey!
Hey!

VERSE1
Ohé, Ohé
Can you feel the autumn breeze now
Ohé, Ohé
It’s time to come on out and play
Ohé, Ohé
We’re kickin’leaves and climbin’trees now
Ohé, Ohé
And ridin’high atop the hay

CHORUS
It’s so fine in the fall when the wind starts a-whistling
We’re starting the party, come see!
The sun will shine on us all (Hey!)
Let’s celebrate the harvest
Everyone have some fun, Vive la Vie!

VERSE2
Ohé, Ohé
Keep the rythm strong and steady
Ohé, Ohé
Clap your hands and stomp your feet
Ohé, Ohé
It’s time to get your costume ready
Ohé, Ohé
Yes it’s time to trick or treat

CHORUS
It’s so fine in the fall when the wind starts a-whistling
We’re starting the party, come see!
The sun will shine on us all (Hey!)
Let’s celebrate the harvest
Everyone have some fun, Vive la Vie!

BRIDGE
Autumn colors all around
Leaves are crunching on the ground
Young and old and in between
Have a Happy Halloween…

CHORUS
It’s so fine in the fall when the wind starts a-whistling
We’re starting the party, come see!
The sun will shine on us all (Hey!)
Let’s celebrate the harvest
Everyone have some fun, Vive la Vie!

INSTRUMENTAL
It’s Halloween and harvest time,
all rolled into one..

CHORUS
It’s so fine in the fall when the wind starts a-whistling
We’re starting the party, come see!
The sun will shine on us all (Hey!)
Let’s celebrate the harvest
Everyone have some fun, Vive la Vie!
It’s so fine in the fall when the wind starts a-whistling
We’re starting the party, come see!
The sun will shine on us all (Hey!)
Let’s celebrate the harvest
Everyone have some fun, Vive la Vie!
Vive La Vie! (Happy Halloween – Shout)
Vive La Vie! (Joyeux Halloween – Shout)
Vive La Vie! (Happy Halloween – Shout)
Vive La Vie! (Happy Halloween – Shout)

Literally translated, Vive La Vie means Life The Life, but Life Life or Celebrate Life is probably more of a natural translation. Ohé seems to be the French for Hey, as in getting someone’s attention or kind of like hello. The rest is in English and should be self explanatory.

“Let’s celebrate the harvest” certainly reinforces the harvest theme which seems to have split some fans, but is one that I fully support and understand, as I wrote here. The lyrics to Vive La Vie in fact support my theory that Disneyland Paris have gone back to the roots of the original Halloween celebrations which pre-date the modern festivities we are more used to.

I said on the latest episode of the podcast, which was only recorded this afternoon and has not yet been uploaded (!), that Vive La Vie felt like a festival song and these lyrics certainly support that. This is a harvest party celebration, and one put to a very catchy tune at that.

After reading through the lyrics, does the Mickey’s Halloween Celebration cavalcade feel any different when watching this fantastic video of it from PixieDuset.be.

At the moment we don’t know if there will be a CD, but I certainly hope we will see one. I won’t hold my breath though, as I’m still waiting for the Dreams! CD that was supposed to appear in June, and 4 months on still hasn’t arrived!

I’m fed up that none of the Park music see music is ever available through the Disney Store. I can’t get to the parks so I feel like I miss out hugely.
